The controller processes personal data in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (General Data Protection Regulation – GDPR), Slovak Act No. 18/2018 Coll. on Personal Data Protection and other applicable legislation.

The website www.sinaclinic.sk is primarily an informational website.

The website:

  • does not use analytics or marketing cookies,
  • does not use advertising or remarketing technologies,
  • does not profile visitors,
  • does not provide user accounts,
  • does not contain forms through which Sina Clinic directly collects personal data from visitors,
  • does not use local storage or session storage for visitor tracking.

When the website is accessed, the web-hosting provider may nevertheless process basic technical information automatically, such as the device IP address, date and time of the request, requested URL, browser type, operating system or information relating to technical errors.

Such information may be processed solely for the purposes of maintaining the availability, security and technical stability of the website. Sina Clinic does not use these data for marketing or visitor profiling.

The retention period for technical server logs depends on the settings and terms of the web-hosting provider.

We recommend that you do not send detailed or sensitive medical information by ordinary email unless this is necessary.

When providing healthcare, Sina Clinic processes patients' personal data to the extent necessary for the provision of healthcare, maintenance of medical records, fulfilment of legal obligations and related medical and administrative activities.

This may include, in particular:

  • patient identification details,
  • contact details,
  • health insurance information,
  • information about health status,
  • diagnoses, examinations and treatment,
  • information about prescribed medicines,
  • medical records,
  • information required for appointments, payments and administrative arrangements related to healthcare.

Health data constitute a special category of personal data and are processed only to the extent and under the conditions permitted by applicable legislation.

5. Purposes and Legal Bases for Processing

Provision of healthcare

Processing is necessary for the provision of healthcare, diagnosis, treatment, maintenance of medical records and fulfilment of the healthcare provider's statutory obligations.

Appointment management

Personal data may be processed for arranging appointments, confirming appointments, communicating changes and organising the provision of healthcare.

Payments and accounting

For paid services, we process information necessary to record payments, issue accounting documents and comply with accounting and tax obligations.

Communication

Information obtained through telephone or email communication is processed for the purpose of dealing with the patient's or another person's request.

Protection of rights and legitimate interests

Where appropriate, personal data may also be processed for the protection of our rights, the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims, and the security of our information systems and operations.

7. eČakáreň and External Services

Sina Clinic may use the eČakáreň platform for appointment management, communication with patients, payments or other electronic services.

eČakáreň is a separate external service and its use is governed by its own terms and conditions and privacy policy.

The website may also contain links to other external services, including Google Maps, Facebook, Instagram, mobile application stores and other websites.

Once you follow an external link, the processing of personal data is governed by the privacy rules of the relevant service provider.

8. Retention of Personal Data

We retain personal data only for as long as necessary for the purpose for which they were collected or for the period required by applicable law.

Medical records are retained for the periods prescribed by applicable healthcare legislation.

Accounting and tax documents are retained for the statutory retention periods.

Information relating to communications or requests is retained only for as long as necessary to deal with the relevant matter and, where justified, to demonstrate the communication subsequently.

9. Security of Personal Data

Sina Clinic implements appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against unauthorised access, loss, misuse, alteration or destruction.

Access to personal and health data is limited to persons who require such access for the performance of their professional duties and who are subject to confidentiality obligations.

  • request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data,
  • request deletion of personal data where the statutory conditions are met,

  • object to processing where the applicable legal basis provides such a right,
  • data portability in the circumstances provided for by the GDPR,
  • withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
